THE YEAR
This award is dedicated to finding a start-up business that has brought a fantastic new product or service to market.
TEAM OF THE YEAR
The Team of the Year Award has been designed for businesses that can demonstrate and show real-life examples of how teamwork has led to their success and their consistent, high levels of customer care and service.
EXCELLENCE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE
The Excellence in Customer Service Award will be presented to a company that demonstrates an ongoing commitment to improving its standards of customer service.
BEST CREATIVE CAMPAIGN
This award is dedicated to finding a creative campaign or project that excels in innovation, execution and impact for both the client and end target audience.
BEST COMPANY TO WORK FOR
This Award is dedicated to finding a business which excels in looking after its staff through effective leadership, healthy workplace culture and well-being practices, training and development opportunities, and wider employee benefit structures to maximise the potential of its people and become a significant player in its industry.
BUSINESS PERSON OF THE YEAR
The Business Person of the Year award is open to entrants that can show outstanding dynamism, ingenuity and motivation in the business.
APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR
The ‘Apprentice of the Year 2018’ Award will be presented to an Apprentice who has striven to work and learn at the same time, to achieve great results for both themselves and their employer in the true spirit of Apprenticeships.
CHARITY OF THE YEAR
The recipient of this award will become our Charity partner next year and will benefit from fundraising activity and all the brand awareness generated by the North East Cheshire Business Awards.
Meet the judging panel
Small Business of The Year (Turnover up to £1.5m)
Ed set up his first business (Williams&Crosby Design and Marketing), directly from university at the age of 23 having completed BA Honours Degree in design and marketing.
Williams&Crosby now has been established for over 36 years. In addition to Williams&Crosby, Ed also has businesses in commercial property development, leasing, and software development. Additionally, he's also started and sold businesses including restaurant and bar, interior design, furniture retailers and domestic technologies.
Ed is passionate about and has a deep understanding of business and marketing, acting in an advisory capacity for a number of client and business organisations, is proud to support local businesses and the East Cheshire Business Awards.
Team of the Year
David has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales since 1987
David gained experience with Baker Tilly, a top 20 firm in Manchester, ensuring compliance in all aspects of auditing, providing assistance in grants, raising finance, producing business plans and marketing businesses for sale. He advised businesses on accountancy, audit, corporate finance and taxation matters.
In 1994 David established a private practice prior to merger with Harts (formerly Hart Shaw). In his current role he has a wide ranging client portfolio and enhances the clients’ organisations by providing a “hands-on” approach in a proactive manner.
Harts offer a city centre skill set but with a local firm service with David’s attention focussed on audit, accounts, value added services, growth, acquisitions, fundraising and business planning. David is well known in the Macclesfield area and is passionate about building strong links with members of the local business community.
